These celebrations, ranging from religious festivals like Bathukamma and Bonalu to grand tribal gatherings such as Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara and Nagoba Jatara, serve as platforms for communal bonding and cultural continuity. Telangana’s fairs also showcase its diverse folk art forms, including Oggu Katha, Perini Shiva Tandavam, Lambadi dance, and Dappu dance, which add to the festive spirit with their storytelling, music, and rhythmic performances. While modernization poses challenges to traditional customs, efforts to preserve and promote these festivals are essential for maintaining Telangana’s unique cultural identity. By blending tradition with contemporary means of celebration, these fairs and festivals continue to strengthen social cohesion and ensure the enduring legacy of Telangana’s rich heritage.</p> Umarani P Copyright (c) 2025 Global Journal of Emerging Trend in Education and Social Science (ISSN: 2582-1377) https://stm.eurekajournals.com/index.php/GJETESS/article/view/569 Thu, 03 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000
