While governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play critical roles in mitigating these crises, access to timely and accurate information is paramount. Such information enables affected communities to benefit from the assistance provided by humanitarian workers effectively. The 2017 Rohingya crisis is a significant example of such an emergency. Forced to flee persecution, over one million Rohingya people now reside in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, home to the world’s largest and most densely populated refugee camps. Despite the efforts of donor organizations, the community remains dependent on external aid and continues to face multiple challenges. Effective communication is essential in this context to inform individuals about available assistance, ensure security, and dispel harmful rumours. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review to examine the role and significance of ‘listener' s clubs in disseminating information and countering misinformation within Rohingya refugee camps. Drawing on frameworks such as the Two-Step Flow Model, and the KAP Model and Humanitarian Communication model, the research explores the nature, impact, and relevance of listeners' clubs during various phases of the humanitarian emergency.</p> Shefali Chaturvedi, Dr. Parvesh Lata, Dr. Meeta Ujjain Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Humanities & Social Science: Insights & Transformations [ISSN: 2581-3587 (online)] https://stm.eurekajournals.com/index.php/IJHSSIT/article/view/567 Fri, 07 Feb 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Dynamics of Language Change: An In-Depth Exploration https://stm.eurekajournals.com/index.php/IJHSSIT/article/view/565 <p>Language is not static; it evolves continuously through various mechanisms influenced by cultural, social, and cognitive factors. Through a triangulated qualitative methodology that combines archival analysis, in-depth interviews, and media content examination, this study explores how the Jamaican state has systematically engineered historical amnesia to maintain hegemonic control, obscure accountability, and stifle collective memory. Utilizing critical discourse analysis (CDA) and constructivist grounded theory, the study identifies key themes of state violence, selective memory, and manufactured consent, while also revealing the resilience of counter-hegemonic memory practices embedded within Jamaican music, oral history, and cultural discourse.Findings suggest that the weaponization of forgetting has not only undermined the nation’s capacity for historical reckoning but has also sustained social and political inequalities by perpetuating a narrative of public distraction. The study highlights the role of the media in complicating public memory, demonstrating how news cycles and sensationalized reporting distract from deeper political crises. Moreover, the research emphasizes the significance of resistance memory in shaping national identity and public consciousness, offering insight into how communities continue to contest historical silences.By synthesizing these findings within the framework of state power, public health, and historical trauma, this paper calls for a renewed national dialogue on memory, justice, and collective responsibility, with practical recommendations for addressing the ongoing legacies of state violence in shaping public policy and societal health. Ultimately, this study contributes to a broader understanding of how historical narratives are constructed, contested, and manipulated, offering a critical lens through which to examine the politics of memory in post-colonial societies.</p> Zandy U. In the context of the workplace, this approach is gaining significant traction for its potential to improve both employee satisfaction and productivity. This study investigates the role of positive psychology in enhancing workplace productivity and employee well-being through a structured questionnaire distributed among 270 employees from diverse sectors across India. The results reveal a strong positive correlation between practices such as gratitude, resilience training, optimistic leadership, and mindfulness on employee morale, engagement, and performance. Findings also suggest that organizations investing in positive psychology interventions report reduced stress levels and higher retention rates. This paper contributes to the understanding of how psychological capital can serve as a strategic tool for human resource development in modern workplaces.</p> Dr. Priyanka Neeta Masih Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Humanities & Social Science: Insights & Transformations [ISSN: 2581-3587 (online)] https://stm.eurekajournals.com/index.php/IJHSSIT/article/view/584 Tue, 22 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000
