Abstract

Educational approaches have substantially improved and changed in recent years. Technologies have evolved, particularly since all educational activities moved to an e-learning format. This necessitated the introduction of different teaching strategies and educational management techniques. For these reasons, learning management systems such as WebCT, Blackboard, and Learning Spaces are currently accessible. They provide a variety of services, including the creation and distribution of online learning materials, the recording and transcription of lectures, and the facilitation of communications among diverse users. Learning management systems have allowed stakeholders to create platforms that facilitate convenient and adaptable web-based teaching. We can address a range of aspects and features that have shaped the concept of performance in relation to the learning process. Performance during e-learning and distant learning is a major challenge for management because a variety of factors can influence learning. In the present study, we analyzed and evaluated the factors that could affect the effectiveness of distance learning and e-learning from the perspective of the faculty and students at the College of Sciences and Arts at Unaizah, Qassim University (Unaizah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Our objective was to examine the factors that influence the quality of online learning when using the Blackboard learning management system, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. The study's findings will be valuable to universities attempting to integrate technology into their teaching and learning processes and will help to increase the productivity of online learning.
