The ‘New Normal’: An Evaluation of the Effects of COVID-19 on Nigeria’s Education Sector

Abstract

This study centres on the effects of COVID-19 on the Nigeria’s education sector. It has acknowledged that Nigeria had already suffered from different diseases and epidemic and now suffers of COVID-19 pandemic. Using both primary and secondary sources of data collection, the study discusses the effect of the pandemic on the education sector and emphasised that it has occasion the closure of schools. The closure of schools in turn was characterised with numerous challenges such as youth’s restiveness and numerous many other immoral behaviours. The paper concludes that the pandemic has slowed the pace of academic activities and claimed a lot of lives of both students and teachers.
