Abstract

Strengthening the economic empowerment of women is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable development and pro-poor growth and for achieving all economic participation. Enhancing the empowerment of women is an integral part of building their rights and an equitable society. Achieving economic empowerment means having the means, for women and men, to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from the development process in a way that assures them recognition of the value of their contribution and respect for it.
