The Role of Positive Psychology in Enhancing Workplace Productivity and Employee Well-being
Abstract
Positive psychology, as a contemporary psychological framework, emphasizes strengths, well-being, and optimal functioning rather than focusing solely on dysfunction. In the context of the workplace, this approach is gaining significant traction for its potential to improve both employee satisfaction and productivity. This study investigates the role of positive psychology in enhancing workplace productivity and employee well-being through a structured questionnaire distributed among 270 employees from diverse sectors across India. The results reveal a strong positive correlation between practices such as gratitude, resilience training, optimistic leadership, and mindfulness on employee morale, engagement, and performance. Findings also suggest that organizations investing in positive psychology interventions report reduced stress levels and higher retention rates. This paper contributes to the understanding of how psychological capital can serve as a strategic tool for human resource development in modern workplaces.
